This QR code generator turns your restaurant or café menu link into a printable code in under a minute: paste the link, then download it as an image or as numbered table cards on A4 paper. The other tabs make a code that opens your Google review box, one that joins a guest's phone to your Wi-Fi, and one that starts a WhatsApp chat with your shop. Each code is static and carries your details as typed, so it keeps working in Saudi Arabia and abroad as long as the link inside it works.
How this QR code generator works
A QR code (Quick Response code) is a square that holds a short piece of text. The phone reads that text and decides what to do: open a link, offer to join a network, or start a chat. So the generator's job is to write the text in a format phones understand, then draw it as modules. Open "What exactly does the code carry?" under the preview to see that text before you print.

QR code menu: a static code for a link you own
A QR code menu is simply a code that opens your menu page. This generator does not host the menu. You put the menu on your website, a shared PDF or your store page, paste that link, and the code carries the link itself. Services that sell "dynamic" codes put their own link in the code and redirect guests to your menu, so when the subscription lapses, every code printed on your tables stops working. A static code never expires, but it never changes either: if the menu moves to a new address, make a new code or redirect the old address from your own website.
A shorter link gives a code with fewer, larger modules that scans from further away. If your menu address is long, ask whoever runs your website for a short path on your own domain, such as /menu, rather than a third-party shortener that can expire.
Table QR codes and print-ready cards
In the Table numbers tab, enter the menu link and the first and last table numbers to get a PDF with one card per table, each printed with its number. At four cards per A4 sheet each card is about 9.5 × 13.8 cm, a good fit for a table stand; six per sheet gives smaller cards that work as stickers. Turn on Add the table number to the link only if your ordering system reads that number. Otherwise every card carries the same link, and the number is there for the guest and the waiter.
Print one sheet first and try it under the restaurant's actual lighting. Glossy lamination can reflect light across the code; a matte finish scans more easily.
Google review QR code for your shop
A review code saves the customer from searching for your shop on Maps: they scan, and the review box opens. You get the link from your Google Business Profile: open it signed in as the owner, choose Ask for reviews, and copy the short link. Open the link on your own phone first to check it lands on the review box and not your general listing.
Place the code where the visit ends: by the till, in the bill folder, or on the takeaway bag. Do not offer gifts or discounts in return for reviews; Google's review policies prohibit it.
Wi-Fi QR code for guests
A Wi-Fi QR code holds the network name, its security type and the password in the WIFI: format, and the phone offers to connect without anyone typing the password. Enter the network name with the exact capital and small letters the phone shows, because one wrong character gives a code that does not connect. Special characters such as ; , : " in the password are escaped with a backslash, as the format requires. If the network is hidden, tick that option in advanced mode.
Printing the password under the code helps a guest whose phone cannot scan, but it shows the password to anyone who sees the card. A guest network kept separate from the till and the cameras is what makes that safe.
WhatsApp QR code for bookings and orders
A WhatsApp code opens a chat with your shop number without the customer saving the number first. Type the number the way you normally would, such as 0551234567, and the generator converts it to the international format the wa.me link accepts. A ready-made message such as "I would like to book a table" appears in the customer's typing box, and they can edit it before sending.
How this differs from the e-invoice QR code
The QR code on a simplified tax invoice in Saudi Arabia follows a format set by the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA) and holds data from the invoice itself; it is not made from a menu link. This generator is for links, networks and chats only. For the invoice code, use the ZATCA invoice QR code generator.
Common mistakes
- Printing before testing the code on two different phones, then finding a typo in the link after the cards are on every table.
- A code pointing to a menu on a trial account or a monthly subscription service, which stops when the subscription ends.
- Trimming the white margin around the code or placing it on a dark background, so some cameras cannot read it.
- A small code on a sign far from the guest, such as a sticker on the door meant to be read from the pavement.
- A Wi-Fi code with an old password after the router password was changed.
What to do with the result
Scan the preview with your own phone, then download the PDF cards and print a test sheet. The PNG suits social posts and screens, and the SVG file is for your designer, who can place the code in a printed menu at any size without losing sharpness. The first download opens a short form asking for your name and mobile once; the preview is open without signing up. Share as a link copies a link that opens this page with the same details for a colleague, except the Wi-Fi password, which never goes into the link. If you are reviewing the menu itself, start with the menu engineering analysis.
When the order starts at the table
The code takes the guest to the menu; after that it is the kitchen's and the cashier's work: the order, the bill, the tax invoice and closing the shift. At Microtec we offer O-Red to restaurants and cafés in the Kingdom, a cashier and POS system, and our solutions are approved by ZATCA. Try it with your team before committing.
